June brings along perfect weather for outdoor events.  This time of year our schedule becomes filled with wonderful events in the great outdoors.  To us, there's nothing more enjoyable than musical worship in the outdoors with a crowd of fellow believers.

SOULSTOCK 2005

Soulstock 2005 was a HUGE success. We thank all of you who came out. It's probably the largest events at which we have had the privilege to perform.  There was over 16,000 people at the event before it was all over.  Our friends, Justin and Cari from WDJC 93.7FM in Birmingham, made the trip and took the stage to plug their station and to introduce us. They are such cool people and have an awesome radio show. It was also nice to meet the guys from Big Daddy Weave, Jeff Deyo, and the Apologetix. From the minute we arrived, we knew that God's hand was on the event.  The entire staff was completely 100% committed to ensuring that Soulstock was centered on Christ and His ministry.  With that type of focus, they can't avoid being successful.  It was an incredible day of fun, worship, and ministry and before night was over, we witnessed a field of thousands on their knees in prayer an worship. Absolutely amazing!!  We also have to send a big thanks to WFIX FM in Florence and Decatur, Alabama. They took a lot of time during Soulstock to interview us on the air and let us talk about our ministry. Being an Independent band, we consider every friend that we make in the radio industry a blessing.  There's a complete Soulstock report along with photos in our online journal.  You can read it here

UPCOMING EVENTS

O
n Thursday, June 2nd, Scott will be on the Mark and Mack radio show on Birmingham's WDJC, 93.7FM.  Mark and Mack have a fabulous morning radio show and have graciously invited Scott to come in and share his "Hero" testimony.  Many of you have heard it already, as he share's it at most of our events.  Scott has an awesome way of presenting his faith.  If you are anywhere near the central Alabama area on Thursday, June 2, please tune into their show.  Scott is scheduled to be on around 8:30am.

T
his weekend, Friday, June 3rd, we get to return to our hometown, where it all started, Pell City, Alabama. Every year the Chamber of Commerce hosts the Hometown Block Party. Over the years, it has become a rather large event with over 10,000 in in attendance at last year. This years event will have 5 stages around the downtown area with many different styles of music.  Thousands turned out to support the Christian stage last year.  For some reason, the City doesn't promote the Christian stage very much in their advertisements but it usually has an enormous crowd that rivals all of the other stages.  We'll take the stage at 8:30pm. This year we will play for about 2 hours. This means that we'll be breaking out a lot of music that you haven't heard in a while (and we haven't played in a while). We'll also be introducing 4 new songs that we haven't performed live yet. For all of our friends and family in the area that are reading this, we expect you to be there. :)  Bring your chairs! It's going to be fun. We'd really like to see the Christian stage "show up" all of the other stages there by having the largest crowd <grin>.

The next night, Saturday, June 4th, we'll take it all on the road to Springville, Alabama where we will perform at Faith Fest.  This is the first of what's hoped to be an annual event.  The city's Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring this event.  We've invited artist Jamey Hamm, the Truth Force Power and Strength Team,  to participate in the event along with us. The event will also feature artist Kevin Moore and the Bradford Road Worship Team. The concert is a free event and will be held at the Springville High School football stadium.  This will give us an opportunity to see how powerful our sound system really is.  The event starts at 6pm and we will take the stage at 8pm. We pray that there's a big turnout. It's going to be a very powerful event with a very powerful message.

S
aturday, June 18th
is ROCK THE FLOCK in Sylacauga.  Our friends in Sylacauga have decided to put on several outdoor monthly concerts during the summer.  We're thrilled that they have asked us to be at the first one.  As of this writing, the actual location is still being determined.  Check the website for updates. The location and other event details will be posted there as soon as we know them.

Finally on June 25th, we get the privilege to return to Athens, Alabama. We made many  new friends there from Soulstock and other events the past few years.  Several churches are coming together for a youth camp.  We'll get to close out their camp with a concert at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church. It should be a blast and we look forward to seeing our friends in Athens again.

It's a busy month for us.  God has blessed us with some great opportunities and we plan to serve Him to the best of our ability.
