06/07/06 - From looking at our current schedule, you probably think that we're quite lazy and uninspired. The fact is, it's quite the opposite. Things are very busy for us on the personal side, so busy, in fact, we had no available weekends in June to perform. It takes all 5 of us plus Steve, our trusty sound man, to hit the road. Between the six of us there are 9 children (Scott-2, Kerry-2, Jason-2, Kelly-1, Ben-0, Steve-2) between the ages of 3 and 13. Our families are the most important things in our lives and this time of year is loaded with family vacations and other opportunities. We apologize to many of you who wanted to book us for events but found us unavailable. We don't regret it, however. Our kids only stay this way for a little while, and then they are gone on their own paths. We're still working very hard on some new music and we're looking forward to August and September. School will be back in session then and we'll have plenty of time to hit the road! Maybe we'll see you then. If you have kids, don't waste your opportunities to enjoy them. Kerry

04/01/06 - The past few months have been very tumultuous (big word!?!) for us. There have been a lot of changes. With God's guidance, however, we're back on track. You'll see a new face in the band now. Ben Pierce has rejoined us for our last few events as our lead guitarist. I say "rejoined" because he was our lead guitarist when we first began back in 1998. Want to keep up with more of what's going on? Check out our blog on MYSPACE.COM. |

09/13/05 - Kelly is now married!!! Several of us headed to the Gulf Coast this past weekend for Kelly and Toni's sunset wedding at the beach. It was absolutely beautiful. We wish Kelly and Toni all of the best. I'm sure that you're all dying to see photos so here's a few of them.

09/05/05 - We had a great time at the Peniel Rock MusicFest in Macon, GA. It was great to make some new friends and hang out with some old ones. It was a very hot day but it was well worth it, as we saw many accept Christ and even saw a few baptized on the baseball field before the night was over. It was a great trip. We even got to hang out with our old friend, Short-Tee. Hopefully, you'll see more of Short-Tee with us in the coming months. We also made some new friends in, JJ Weeks. JJ and his band are incredible. Here are a few photos from our time on stage: (click each one for a larger photo)

09/02/05 - Well, we're approaching the end of our extremely busy summer. We load up the sound system and lights and head to Macon, Ga. today for the Peniel Rock Music Fest. It's going to be quite interesting. The event is going to be held in a historic baseball stadium there. That means that we'll get to push our sound system to it's limits and really see how it fairs. We've used it at several outdoor events this year, the last one had over 3000 people in attendance. It's great to have the ability to accommodate venues of that size. Our good friend, Short-Tee, will be going down with us. It's going to be quite an interesting event as we are teamed with all styles of Christian music, including one of the Contemporary Christian pioneers, Phil Driscoll. It will be great to meet someone who has done so much for the progression of Christian music. After this weekend, we have some down time. That's not all bad. It's football season and most all of us are avid football fans. Scott and Kerry both have kids playing youth football (10 year olds). In fact, they are both on the same team this year in Pell City, AL. They are looking forward to spending some weekends at football games. Interested in BOOKING us for your event? We'd love to come out and share the "Hero" concert with your church, youth group, or other organization. Click the BOOKING link above for details. Also, our sound and lighting system is always for rent. Use the same BOOKING link to enquire about renting our sound and lighting system for your event.

08/08/05 - It's been quite a while since our last journal posting. Things have been very busy for us. We've been getting in our final summer vacations and activities before all of our kids go back to school. We have a busy August/September ahead. If you didn't read the last newsletter, you missed the news that Kelly, the last remaining single guy in the band, is getting married in September. He and his fiance, Toni, will be getting married on September 10. It's going to be a beautiful beachside wedding. We'll all be there for the festivities. (plus it's a great excuse to go to the beach!) |

06/30/05 - It's been a busy week. Thanks to Praise 95.7 in Pensacola, Florida, we've had to make numerous shipments of CD's to the Pensacola/Ft. Walton/Navarre area. We appreciate all of you who've ordered your copy of the Hero CD because of what you've heard on Praise 95.7. Thanks for all of the emails. We really appreciate your support and hope that we'll be able to make a trip to the area soon. GraceFest is making their final decisions soon, hopefully, we'll be selected to be a part of their festival in Pensacola in September. |
| 06/26/05 - We send a big "THANKS" to the folks up in Athens, Alabama. We were asked to come and give a concert to close out a Youth Camp for Poplar Creek Baptist. They held the concert at Lindsay Lane Baptist church and opened it up to the public. It was a great time and we met a lot of great people. Here are a few photos: |
|
06/24/05 - We got a confirmation email that our song "God of Me" is in the night rotation at Praise 95.7FM in Pensacola/Ft. Walton, Florida. That's exciting. If you live in that area, tune them in or listen in at their website. |
|
06/22/05 - We got a phone call today telling us that Mark Hall (Casting Crowns) was seen in the Birmingham Lifeway Christian bookstore and he purchased the "Hero" CD. We're really curious to find out if he really did and if he did, we'd love to know what he thought about it, being that we regard him as one of the best in the industry right now. I'll post more if I find out...... We're still waiting on the final word for the big news regarding "Hero" the song. More on that later, as well... |
|
06/07/05 - Exciting news is on the horizon for our song, "Hero". We'll publish it here as soon as we can talk about it. |
|
06/06/05 - We appreciate the opportunity that was given to us by the Mark and Mack radio show last week by allowing Scott to come on and share his testimony and for playing the "Hero" song. Just that one opportunity has opened several doors for our ministry. We had a very busy weekend. We had a blast at the Pell City Hometown block party on Friday night. It was fun to be around a lot of old friends and family. On Saturday we moved it all to Springville, Alabama for their very first "Faith Fest". It was incredibly "hot" and we all got sunburned while setting up the stage and doing a sound check on a football field in the blazing sun. It was a great night, though. We made some new friends in other artists like the Truth Force Power and Strength Team, Jamey Hamm, Kevin Moore, the Bradford Road Praise Team. It was a good night and we had a great time. We had a great opportunity to share the Gospel. Here are few photos from the event:

05/11/05 - The Soulstock team just made their photos from the event available. Here are a few more photos.

|
05/09/05 - With absolutely gorgeous weather and an attendance of over 16000, Soulstock 2005 was absolutely one of the best events of which we have ever been a part. From the moment we arrived, until the end of the event, we were treated so wonderfully by all of the event staff. Soulstock was a class-A, Number 1, organized event. From the moment that we arrived, you could feel that this was more than just a concert event. It was an evangelistic event that had Christ at it's center. Just as we thought, the guys from Big Daddy Weave were very classy guys with a true heart for ministry. Jeff Deyo is an incredible worship leader and the Apologetix are downright hilarious with their parodies. For me, being a drummer, the two highlights of event was getting to spend a few conversations with Jeff Jones, drummer for Big Daddy Weave, and then getting to meet Lous Santiago, Jr. Lous is one of the most amazing drummers that I have ever seen. He's known as one of the best drummers in the world. He ha recently begun playing drums for Jeff Deyo, this was only his second concert with Jeff. Lous is also a Christian and isn't ashamed to show it. Christian Music should be proud to have such and incredible drummer in it's ranks. It was a thrill just to sit back and watch such a master behind the drums. Justin and Cari from WDJC 93.7 came out to introduce us and throw out some WDJC t-shirts.
For the band as a whole, it was overwhelming at the support that was shown by all of the people in attendance. For hours upon hours, we manned our merchandise tent and signed posters, CD's, shirts, hats, purses, other band's CD's, and just about anything else that you can think of. If you were there and are reading this, we sincerely thank you for your support.
We send a special thanks to a fellow youth worker, Eric Vega. Eric is a youth pastor who has an incredible testimony and ministry. Originally from the Bronx, Eric now owns a coffee shop in Athens, Alabama called Coffee Creations. For both of the days that we were in Athens, Eric "hooked us up" with some of the best Coffee creations that we've ever had. Eric is an incredible minister with a sincere heart for Jesus Christ and the sharing of the Gospel. We will always make it a point to visit Eric's coffee shop whenever we're in Athens. We also send a big thanks to WFIX 93.1FM in Florence, AL. Around 9pm on Saturday night, during Soulstock, the had Jason and Taz on for a telephone interview. They spent quite a long time discussing the band, the ministry, and the "Hero" CD. THANK YOU KFIX!!! Thanks for everyone's support! --- Kerry We give a special thanks to our Manager, Andy Tolar and Design Productions, LLC for providing these great photos from the event. |

05/08/05 - Soulstock was an incredible experience. Since we didn't get home until the early hours of the morning, we want to rest and spend some time with the "mothers' in our life. We'll have a full report with photos posted in a day or two. Happy Mothers Day!! |

05/02/05 - We have
received word that Soulstock WILL NOT be broadcast over the Internet
as rumored. A diligent effort was made to get it accomplished
but some copyright protection issues will keep it from
happening. Music piracy is a big problem, even in the Christian
market. Of course, that's another topic that we don't have time
to discuss here. <begin soapbox> Just
remember, if you distribute or receive copies music that you did
not purchase, you are effectively taking money away from the artist
that you "love". If you like an artists music,
do them a favor, and buy their CD. It's the only way that they
can continue to do what they do. <end soapbox> |
|
04/30/05 - Soulstock is next Saturday!!! We'll be heading to Athens on Friday
afternoon. On Friday night, at 6:30pm, we'll lead a small worship
service on the site of Soulstock. It's not a concert, but a
small gathering of all of the volunteers for Soulstock for prayer and
worship. The public is also invited. We're hearing
that Soulstock may be broadcast live over the Internet. This will be
cool for those that can't get to the event. I'm sure that there
was lots of legal issues with record labels that had to be worked
through before a live Internet broadcast could happen. I guess
that's one good thing about being an "independent
band". For us, it was just a simple "yes" or
"no". :) We don't know the details yet but they
will be posted here when we know them. |

04/04/05 - We send a big thanks to Rev. Tim Hohm of San Francisco, California. Rev. Tim is the pastor of Central Assembly in El Sobrante, California. He is also known as a "podcaster". A "podcast" is a radio show that is downloaded to people with Apple with iPOD's. Pastor Tim delivers devotionals via Podcasting to many iPOD users around the world. In a recent edition, Pastor Tim featured us and one of our tracks from the "Are You Ready?" CD. Even if you don't have an Ipod, you can still listen to Rev. Tim's messages. 03/23/05 - Welcome aboard, Design Productions, LLC!. We recently turn over our booking and our concert production to newly founded Design Productions, LLC. Design Productions was founded by our friend, Andy Tolar. Andy has a heart for ministry and an exceptional knowledge and expertise around concert productions. Design productions is setting out to provide a wide array services such as artist management, artist booking, concert and event production, as well as lighting consulting. We thrilled to be the first member of Design Productions booking roster. Allowing them to coordinate and produce all of our events will allow us to focus more on our ministry content and music and less on the logistics and technical aspects of taking our ministry on the road. |

02/28/05 - Wow!
What an incredible concert we had last night in Bessemer, AL at the
Oasis of Praise. We brought out the entire sound and light
system. It took us most of the afternoon to setup but it was
well worth it. It was a night of "firsts". Taz's
son, Chad, is a member of a Christian band called "The
Gift". They opened up the concert for us. Chad has
been around us for several years and it was great for us to finally
get to see him perform with his band. We also had our first
marriage proposal during one of our concerts. The prospective groom
approached us before the concert and asked if we would take the time
at some point during our concert to allow him to propose to his
girlfriend. So... just before "More Love",
Jason called him to the stage where he called his girlfriend to the
stage and made his proposal. Of course, she said,
"YES!". On a quite humorous note, we got to see
Taz fall off of the drum riser and flat upon his back just before he
started the intro to the concert. It was very, very, funny once
we realized that the only thing that had been hurt was his
pride. We even have video of what will now be known as "The
Fall" (click
here to see a video clip).

02/0705 - We had an awesome time in Sylacauga, AL at First Assembly of God this past weekend. God provided us an opportunity to play in a beautiful church in front of hundreds of people. It was a great event and, most importantly, we've already had many praise reports about decisions for Christ that were made. We've also had a few photos emailed to us (see below). Despite Scott's ankle injury, he was able to limp through the concert with little trouble. We are very thankful to all of the members and staff of the church for their hospitality. A big thanks also goes out to Jon Walden of WDJC 93.7 FM for taking his time to show up and get the crowd "fired up". |
|
2/3/05 - Scott injured his ankle in a basketball game yesterday and is now on crutches. The doc's say that it's not very serious, it's only a severe strain. Scott should be in good shape for our upcoming concerts. |
|
2/1/05 - Kerry had
to undergo another surgery on his left ear today, the second one in 4
months. The doctor says that all went well and as planned.
Kerry will be good to go for our first 2005 concert this weekend. |

1/27/05 - The January edition of the Newsletter has been sent out. If you didn't receive it, click here to read it. |
|
1/11/05 - We got a
very cute email today from our "youngest fan". He sent
us a video doing his latest dance moves to his favorite Floodgate
song. He loves Floodgate's latest CD, especially the music that
he can dance to. You'll have to have a high speed connection to view
it. Wow! This kid can Dance!! Watch the video by clicking
here. (we've touched it up a little bit and added a
title)

1/10/05 - Wow! Suddenly we're getting reports from several states that our music is being played. We must send thanks to 95.3 THE HOOK in Valdosta, GA where our song, "Give Him One Reason" , won a battle of the Bands segment on their station last week. We also send out a big thanks to Joy Radio AM1420 in Huntington, West Virginia, where our song "God of Me" was featured during their "New Mountain Praise" show recently. Our Radio edited version of "Hero" and "Give Him One Reason" has been added to several online stations including Christian Indie Radio. Tune in an listen. Being an independent band, we don't really know when and where our music is being played. Please email us if you hear our music on a radio station so that we can properly show our gratitude. |
